  2. For Server Role, choose Standby.

  3. Enter:

    • Primary Machine Host Name or IP Address

    • Primary Machine Admin Console Username

    • Primary Machine Admin Console Password

  4. Click Add to Primary.

Change the standby server snapshot directory

The standby server snapshot directory is a folder on the standby server that holds updates pushed by the primary server.

  1. Click the Connectors > Standby Server tab.

  2. For Standby Server Folder Path, click Change.

  3. Enter the new folder path.

  4. Click Save.

Note  The folder must already exist and have the FileMaker Server system user assigned with read and write access to it. See Tips for valid folders.

Switch operations from the primary to the standby server

  2. Click Switchover.
