Startup settings

To specify startup settings, click the Configuration > General Settings tab.

To	Select
Open databases that are in the database folders on the primary machine when the Database Server restarts	Automatically open databases that are in the database folders
Open only the previously open databases when the Database Server restarts	Only open last opened databases
Start the Database Server component on the primary machine when the computer restarts	Automatically start Database Server
Start the Web Publishing Engine on the primary machine when the computer restarts	Automatically start Web Publishing Engine
Enable the persistent cache to avoid database corruption if the database server process terminates abruptly	Persistent Cache
Automatically save the persistent cache to disk when powering off	Persistent Cache Sync to Disk

Block new users from connecting to open databases	Block New Users

Notes

You can start or stop the Database Server or the Web Publishing Engine without restarting the machine. See Starting or stopping FileMaker Server components.
You can manually start the Database Server and Web Publishing Engine if you don't enable the startup settings. When the machine restarts, you can start Admin Console, then start the Database Server, the Web Publishing Engine, or both. See Starting or stopping FileMaker Server components.
