Configuring a primary server to use a standby server
The primary server must grant access to a standby server. From the primary server, you can also create virtual machine snapshots for use in enabling a standby server.
| To | Do this |
|---|---|
|
Configure the current machine as a primary server and specify its standby server |
|
|
Change the standby server snapshot directory |
The standby server snapshot directory is a folder on the primary server that holds updates used to push to the standby server.
Note The folder must already exist and have the FileMaker Server system user assigned with read and write access to it. See Tips for valid folders. |
|
Create a virtual machine snapshot |
Note Not all systems support live snapshot creation. Hypervisor with snapshot capabilities is required to create live snapshots. |
