Administrator settings

To manage your administration account and FileMaker Admin API public keys, click the Administration > Administrator tab.

FileMaker Admin API public keys provide an alternative to traditional user name and password sign-in for FileMaker Admin API. For more information, see the README.txt file in [installation directory]/Tools/AdminAPI_PKIAuth.

To Do this

Change the Admin Console account user name

For User Name:

  1. Click Change.

  2. Enter the current password.

  3. Enter the new user name.

  4. To change the password while changing the user name, select Change Password. Enter and then confirm a new password.

  5. Click Save.

This change is effective immediately.

Change the Admin Console account password

For Password:

  1. Click Change.

  2. Enter the current password.

  3. Enter and then confirm a new password.

  4. Click Save.

This change is effective immediately.

Add or edit the server owner contact information

For Contact Information:

  1. Click Change.

  2. Enter the server owner's Owner name, Email address, and Phone Number.

  3. Click Save.

This change is effective immediately.

Add FileMaker Admin API public keys

For FileMaker Admin API Public Keys:

  1. Click Add Public Key.

  2. Enter a unique Name to identify the FileMaker Admin API public key.

  3. Create a public key using OpenSSL.

    The included fmadminapi_pki_token_example.py file may be used to generate public keys and PKI tokens with OpenSSL.

  4. Copy the contents of the public key file and paste them into the Public Key field.

  5. Click Save.

This change is effective immediately.

Edit FileMaker Admin API public keys

For FileMaker Admin API Public Keys:

  1. Click Settings to the right of an existing public key.

  2. Click Edit.

  3. Change the Name or Public Key as needed.

  4. Click Save.

This change is effective immediately.

Delete FileMaker Admin API public keys

For FileMaker Admin API Public Keys:

  1. Select the checkbox next to an existing public key.

  2. Click Delete.

  3. In the Delete Public Keys dialog box, click OK.

This change is effective immediately.

Notes 

  • The public key name is case sensitive and must match exactly between the Admin Console value and value used in FileMaker Admin API.

  • Even though the public key name is case sensitive, Admin Console will consider two indentical entries with differing cases to be duplicate values.
