Integrating with Apple School Manager
Claris Connect provides connectors and templates that connect Apple School Manager and a Student Information System (SIS). School districts can use these templates to create flows that sync SIS data with Apple School Manager on a daily basis.
Note Claris Connect for Apple School Manager User Guide describes the prerequisites for connecting your SIS to Apple School Manager.
Each SIS requires a one-time procedure to set up Claris Connect in the SIS portal, including authentication. Districts also need one or more Managed Apple Accounts for Apple School Manager.
The documentation for each SIS describes the initial setup procedure and walks you through the Claris Connect template for that SIS.
If your district doesn't have a SIS or if your SIS isn't currently supported by Apple School Manager, you can still upload school data from Claris Connect using the Apple School Manager connector. This connector lets you securely upload school data in CSV (comma-separated-value) file format using an SFTP client.
You must have an Apple School Manager account to upload data to Apple School Manager, regardless of your data source. See Apple School Manager User Guide.
Sync Assist for Apple School Manager
From within Apple School Manager, Claris Connect also provides the Sync Assist feature that adds the capability to filter data, patch data, and adjust the sync frequency when connecting your SIS or uploading a OneRoster-formatted CSV to Apple School Manager. See Integrate Apple School Manager with your Student Information System (SIS) in the Apple School Manager User Guide.
Notes
-
If your SIS is behind a firewall, you may need to add certain IP addresses to your firewall's allowlist to be able to communicate with Claris Connect. See Outbound IP addresses.
