A plug-in is software that extends the capabilities of FileMaker Pro. Plug-ins may be available from third-party software companies, or from a development or information systems group within your organization.
A plug-in can implement features that you access by using external functions, external script steps, or both. See the documentation that came with the plug-in.
This section describes how to:
- create plug-ins and make them available to users
- install plug-ins in custom app files
- set up custom app files to check plug-in version information and update plug-ins automatically if needed
- FileMaker Pro runs only as a 64-bit application. Using an incompatible combination of FileMaker Pro and plug-ins may result in unexpected behavior or cause FileMaker Pro to stop working. To determine if a plug-in supports 64-bit FileMaker Pro, contact the plug-in's developer. To disable incompatible plug-ins, search the Knowledge Base.
