Multiple-machine deployment
You can deploy FileMaker Server on a primary machine and then deploy additional FileMaker WebDirect secondary machines as needed.
Benefits: Under normal circumstances, a single-machine deployment can only accommodate up to 100 FileMaker WebDirect clients. Each secondary machine can accommodate an additional 100 FileMaker WebDirect clients.
You can also enhance the security of your deployment by placing the primary machine behind a firewall and placing a secondary machine in front of the firewall. When a secondary machine receives Custom Web Publishing requests, they are proxied through the secondary machine to the primary machine. FileMaker WebDirect requests are redirected based on the number of secondary machines installed.
