Global installed files

ADT keeps its global files under:

Copy
~/Library/Application Support/ADT/MCP/

These files belong to the ADT installation, not to an individual project. Coding-agent registration files and caches owned by Codex, Cursor, VS Code, or Claude are outside the scope of this page.

Coding-agent plug-ins

ADT installs two distributions of the coding-agent integration under the global root:

Path Contents
agent-plugin/ Agent Plugins standard bundle used by Codex, Cursor, ChatGPT, and VS Code. It contains plugin.json, mcp.json, the ADT launcher, and the bundled skills.
claude-plugin/ Claude Code marketplace bundle. It contains the core ADT plug-in, the default standards pack, their manifests, the MCP configuration, skills, and launcher.
.agents/plugins/marketplace.json ADT-owned marketplace manifest that exposes the Agent Plugin bundle to Codex.

The installer may register or copy these bundles into a coding agent's own directories. Those host-managed copies are not part of ADT's installation root.

Supporting ADT files

Path Contents
bin/ The adt launcher and architecture-specific binaries. Only the coding agent plugin runs these; they are not on your PATH.
fm-cli/ The filemaker binary and the FileMaker frameworks it loads.
addons/ Source operations for ADT components installed into FileMaker files.
template/ Project and Web Viewer app templates, including the vendored @adt/fmdapi package.
logs/ Installer and local analytics logs.
backups/ Backups created while ADT replaces installed files.
scripts/uninstall.sh ADT uninstaller.
install-state.json Installed version and installer state.
telemetry-anonymous-id Anonymous identifier used when telemetry is enabled.

The one command the installer places on your PATH is filemaker:

Copy
/usr/local/bin/filemaker

It points to the filemaker binary and frameworks under fm-cli/ in the ADT global root. The adt command is not installed on your PATH; the coding agent plugin runs it from bin/.
