Update and remove ADT

ADT has three separately updated parts: the global installation on your computer, components installed inside each FileMaker file, and the shared @adt/fmdapi JavaScript library vendored into each ADT project. Updating one does not update the other two.

Global ADT installation

The global installation contains the coding-agent plug-ins, the adt and filemaker CLIs, component definitions, and project templates. Updating the installer replaces these files on your computer.

See Update the toolkit.

Components inside a FileMaker file

Each provisioned FileMaker file contains its own ADT custom functions, layouts, and scripts. Their versions do not change when the global toolkit changes. Each file must be checked and updated separately.

See Check and update a file's ADT components.

Shared project JavaScript library

Each ADT project vendors one copy of @adt/fmdapi under vendor/@adt/fmdapi. Every Web Viewer app in that project uses the shared copy. Updating it changes the project's source.

See Update a project's JavaScript library.

Removing ADT

Removing components from a FileMaker file and uninstalling the global toolkit are separate operations. Neither operation deletes an ADT project from disk.
