Open a file at startup

You can choose a file to open automatically when you start FileMaker Go.

Select a file to open at startup

  1. Tap My Apps My Apps icon, Favorites Favorites icon, Recents Recents icon, or Hosts Hosts icon.

  2. Touch and hold a file, then tap Open at Startup.

Stop opening a file at startup

  1. Tap My Apps My Apps icon or Hosts Hosts icon.

  2. Tap Options menu icon, then tap Settings Settings icon.

  3. Turn off Open File at Startup.

Set a startup file by file path

  1. Tap My Apps My Apps icon or Hosts Hosts icon.

  2. Tap Options menu icon, then tap Settings Settings icon.

  3. Turn on Open File at Startup.

  4. For File Path, enter a path in FileMaker format:

    • file:fileName for a file on your device

      For example, file:Contacts.fmp12

    • fmnet:/hostNameOrIPaddress/fileName for a file on a host

      For example, fmnet:/myhost.example.com/Contacts.fmp12
