Manage the keychain

To skip entering the password each time you open a file or connect to a host, use FileMaker Pro to configure the file to allow saving the password in the keychain, then save the password in FileMaker Go.

To allow saving the password:

  1. In FileMaker Pro, choose File > File Options.

  2. In the Open tab, select Allow stored credentials for authentication.

  3. To require users to authenticate with iOS or iPadOS before FileMaker Go can access its keychain, select Require iOS or iPadOS passcode.

To save the password for a file or host:

  1. In FileMaker Go, tap My Apps My Apps icon or Hosts Hosts icon.

  2. Tap Options menu icon, then tap Manage Keychain Manage Keychain icon.

    If you don't see Options menu icon, tap the tab again.

    If one or more files are configured to require an iOS or iPadOS passcode, you are prompted to either enter your device's passcode or allow access via Touch ID or Face ID.

  3. Turn on Save in Keychain.

  4. (optional) Depending on your device, turn on either Require iOS Authentication or Require iPadOS Authentication before FileMaker Go can access its keychain.

    Note  This option might be disabled or not available, depending on the device and the settings of the File Options dialog box in FileMaker Pro.

To delete a saved password from the keychain:

  1. In FileMaker Go, tap My Apps My Apps icon or Hosts Hosts icon.

  2. Tap Options menu icon, then tap Manage Keychain Manage Keychain icon.

    If you don't see Options menu icon, tap the tab again.

    If one or more files are configured to require an iOS or iPadOS passcode, you are prompted to either enter your device's passcode or allow access via Touch ID or Face ID.

  3. To remove the keychain entry for a file, swipe the entry, then tap Delete.
