Before you begin

Before you begin building an iOS app from your FileMaker custom app, do the following:

• Enroll in the Apple Developer Program.

• Make sure you are familiar with the workflow for developing and distributing iOS apps. See Xcode Help.

• Install Xcode and add your Apple Account:

  1. Download Xcode from the Mac App Store and install it on your Mac.

     Note  Building iOS apps using the iOS App SDK for FileMaker 21.1.1 requires at a minimum the iOS SDK available for Xcode 16.

  2. In the Xcode Apple Accounts settings, add the Apple Account that is associated with your Apple Developer Program.

• Download and open the iOS App SDK:

  1. Download iOSAppSDKPackage_<version number>.zip, then move the file from the Downloads folder to a location of your choice.

  2. Double-click iOSAppSDKPackage_<version number>.zip to unpack the file and create the iOSAppSDKPackage_<version number> folder.
