Inserting files of any type into container fields

2. If you select Store only a reference to the file, FileMaker Pro doesn't import the file; it only keeps track of where it is on your hard disk. This option may reduce the size of your FileMaker Pro file, but if you move or delete the file, FileMaker Pro won't be able to display it. Choose this option if you want to be able to open the file from the container field.
4. Click Open.
• To open a file that has been inserted into a container field (using Store only a reference to the file), select the container field and then press the Space bar, or double-click the container field.
• If you select Store only a reference to the file, one way to see the location of the file on your hard disk is to create a script using the GetAsText function.
