FileMaker Data API integration with Tableau

Use a web data connector to define a connection between a hosted FileMaker Pro database and Tableau. The web data connector is a sample implementation that accepts REST API calls in JSON format. The connection uses the FileMaker Data API to import data from a hosted FileMaker Pro database into Tableau.

Use FileMaker Server or FileMaker Cloud to host the FileMaker database. These hosts can integrate with the following Tableau products:

• Tableau Desktop, minimum version 10, for Windows or macOS. Use the FileMaker Web Data Connector for Tableau Desktop to define a connection to Tableau Desktop.

• Tableau Server, installed on-premise or customer hosted. Host the FileMaker Web Data Connector for Tableau Server on the Tableau Server.

• Tableau Cloud. Run a local Tableau Server instance to proxy data to Tableau Cloud. Host the FileMaker Web Data Connector for Tableau Server on the Tableau Server.

• Tableau Online. Requires the use of Tableau Bridge.
