Viewing and downloading log files

FileMaker Cloud tracks activity, client access, and other information, and stores this information in log files.

  1. In Admin Console, click the Logs tab.

  2. To view a log, click Select, then choose the log name.

    • To reorder columns, drag a column to a new location.

    • To change the sort order, click the column heading.

    • To use a filter for a column, click filter menu in the column heading, choose the criteria, then click Apply.

  3. To download a log file, click Download.

Records

Access.log Client-related access information.
awsmanager.log Activities related to upgrading your FileMaker Cloud subscription or FileMaker Data Storage.
ClientStats.log Detailed client statistics and client accesses to the Database Server.

Event.log

Events that occur when the FileMaker Cloud Database Server is running. Examples include when the Database Server starts or stops, or when database files are opened or closed.
fmdapi.log All FileMaker Data API errors that have occurred, and information about FileMaker Data API calls that access hosted databases.
fmodata.log All OData errors that have occurred, and information about OData calls that access hosted databases.
fmsadminDebug.log The fmsadmin commands used to administer the host via the command line interface (CLI). Users can't use the CLI to administer the host. Log entries are generated by FileMaker Cloud.
fmsaseDebug.log The status of FileMaker scripts that run on the server.
fmsDebug.log Host activities such as opening, closing, encrypting, and listing databases.
fmsgetpasskeyDebug.log Calls related to the certificate key.
fmshDebug.log The status of various processes, such as API requests.
fmshelper.log The utility process that runs, starts, and stops all other processes.
fmslogDebug.log Information about removing old log files.
gateway.log FileMaker Cloud Admin Console activities.
journal.log Notifications and user actions. Examples include notifications about memory or data volume usage, and actions such as initiating an instance upgrade.
LoadSchedules.log The number and type of schedules created when loading a schedule settings file, and any errors that may have occurred.
scriptEvent.log FileMaker script events.
Stats.log FileMaker Cloud performance and number of clients signed in.
TopCallStats.log Detailed information about the client request operations that require the most server resources.
wpe0.log Web Publishing Engine events—such as Web Publishing Engine errors and FileMaker WebDirect errors—or FileMaker script-related errors.

Notes 

  • User credentials and database entries are not logged.
