Working with audio and video in interactive containers
You can work interactively with audio and video files in an
interactive container. For example, you can play, pause, and control the volume of a video.
Working with audio files in interactive containers
When you work with audio files in interactive containers, keep the following points in mind:
•When the
Start playback automatically option is selected in the
Inspector, the audio file starts playing when you display the record. If the option is not selected, you start playing the audio file by clicking the play control.
•To delete an audio file from an interactive container, choose Edit menu > Clear or Cut.
Working with video files in interactive containers
When you work with video files in interactive containers, keep the following points in mind:
•When the Start playback automatically option is selected in the Inspector, the video starts playing when you display the record. If the option is not selected, you start playing the video by clicking the play control.
•To delete a video file from an interactive container, choose Edit menu > Clear or Cut.
Notes
•You cannot work interactively with container fields that are in
portals. However, you can if the container field is in a
popover within a portal.
•Windows: Some audio and video files that play correctly in the 32-bit version of FileMaker Pro may not play correctly in the 64-bit version. In some cases, the 64-bit versions of the audio and video codec software required to play some files in the 64-bit version of FileMaker Pro may not be available.
•If you used the Insert QuickTime feature in FileMaker Pro 13 or earlier versions:
•QuickTime videos in container fields that are in portal rows no longer play. To enable playback within a portal, add a popover button in the portal and place the container field within the popover. See
