Copying style attributes between objects or layout partsUse the Format Painter tool or Style options in the Inspector to apply an object’s attributes to other objects. Use the Inspector to copy style attributes between layout parts.
1. In Layout mode, select the object with the attributes you want to apply.

• To apply the attributes to multiple objects, drag to select all the objects to which you want to apply the attributes.If you want to apply attributes to several objects that are not close enough to select by dragging, lock the Format Painter tool by double-clicking it. To turn off or unlock the Format Painter tool, press Esc.
Copy the styles of an object or layout part Select the object or layout part and click . The style of the selected object, either Theme Defaults or Custom, appears in the Inspector. Paste the styles of a selected object or layout part Apply theme styles (the default styles from the current theme) Remove all styles from objects or layout parts Select an object and choose a state from the drop-down menu. For more information about display states, see Specifying the display state for an object.
• When you copy and paste style attributes, the styles for all states of the object are applied to the destination object.Tip When you create a report in the New Layout/Report assistant, fields that are in summary parts display the part-specific style, not the default theme style. If you have used the Field tool to add a field to a summary part and the text is difficult to see, use the Inspector or the Format Painter to copy the style you want from another field.
