•FileMaker Server Admin Console has been redesigned with a simpler, more responsive user interface, featuring:
•The Dashboard page, which includes components that provide a system overview, for monitoring hosted databases and connected clients; the volume status of the drive where FileMaker Server is installed; and a graphical view of the system statistics. •The Databases page, for administering hosted databases and connected clients on a single page. See Administering databases and Administering clients.
•Enhanced backup features including automatic daily backups and preserved backups. See Understanding backup options.
•Use the secure database folder to manage your encrypted databases. See Database and backup folders.
•Notifications allow you to get immediate messages from FileMaker Server displayed on the machine where Admin Console is running. See Notifications settings.
•Extensive updates to the FileMaker Data API.
•All URLs have been updated to provide a more consistent REST API.
•Use the REST API to upload data into container fields.
•Use script parameters to run FileMaker scripts.
•Use the layout.response parameter to specify the result layout.
•Use the eds.auth parameter to access data in external FileMaker tables hosted on the same FileMaker Server deployment.

If FileMaker Server is installed in a non-default location, the beginning portion of the default path shown above, \Program Files\FileMaker\FileMaker Server, is replaced with the path that was specified during installation. For example: \My_Path\FileMaker\FileMaker Server\Documentation\

•The Deployment assistant is no longer needed on a master machine. Installation is simpler and more straightforward. See FileMaker Server Installation and Configuration Guide.
•The Schedule assistant has been replaced by a simpler user interface available on the Backups > Backup Schedules and Configuration > Script Schedules tabs. See Scheduling database backups and Scheduling administrative tasks.
•Using a standby server is no longer supported.
•Administrator groups are no longer supported.
•Specifying file extensions for runtime solutions is no longer supported.
•For Custom Web Publishing, use the CLI command fmsadmin set cwpconfig to enable the features. See Hosting PHP websites and Hosting databases for XML queries.
•The Technology Tests page is no longer supported. See Testing FileMaker Server.
•The following settings have been removed from Admin Console, but can be set using the CLI command fmsadmin set serverconfig. See Using the command line interface.
