Summary
functions produce a summary of all
records in the
found set, or
subsummary values for records in different groups. Formulas can contain more than one summary function. Summary functions calculate more slowly than other functions because they generate values for a range of records.
An alternative way to generate similar calculated results is to use aggregate functions to summarize data in
related records (whether or not they appear in a
portal). See
Aggregate functions and information about summarizing data in portals.
