Working with favorite files and hosts

You can add a FileMaker Pro file located on your computer or on a remote computer to your favorites in the File menu and in the Launch Center window. You can also add a remote host to the list of favorites.

To manage favorite files:

1.	Choose File menu > Open.

2.	In the My Solutions or the Hosts tab in the Launch Center window, do any of the following.

To manage favorite files in the Hosts tab, select a host name first.

 

To	Do this
Make a file a favorite	Move the pointer over the filename and click . In the My Solutions tab, you can drag a file to Favorites.
Remove a file from Favorites	Click next to the filename.
Switch between displaying only favorite files and displaying all files	Click in the Launch Center window toolbar.
Change the order of favorite files (My Solutions tab only)	Drag a file to the new location in Favorites.

Notes

•	In the My Solutions tab, you can change the order of files if you haven’t used search or favorites to display specific files.

•	You can select multiple files to make or remove favorites in the My Solutions tab.

•	OS X: You can drag multiple files into Favorites, or drag multiple files to change the order.

•	To remove a favorite file, select it, then press Delete.

To manage favorite hosts:

1.	Choose File menu > Open Remote.

2.	In the Hosts tab in the Launch Center window, do any of the following:

 

To	Do this
Display or hide the list of available hosts that you can access	Click in the Launch Center window toolbar.
Make a host a favorite	Move the pointer over , then click (it changes to ). If you don’t see the host, you can add it manually. Click to display the Add Favorite Host dialog box. See Opening shared files as a client. Note  The Hosts tab displays the files from the last favorite host that was selected.
Remove a favorite host	Click .
Edit a favorite host	Select a favorite host name, then click . Choose Edit Favorite Host to display the Edit Favorite Host dialog box. See Opening shared files as a client.

Note  To manage favorites in the Manage Favorites dialog box, choose File menu > Open Favorite > Manage Favorites. See Manage Favorites dialog box.
