Sending messages to FileMaker clients

You can send a message to FileMaker Pro, FileMaker Go, and FileMaker WebDirect clients that are connected to databases hosted by FileMaker Server.

To send a message to all clients:

  1. Click the Databases page.

  2. For Clients, click the checkbox in the table heading.

  3. Click Send Message and type a message.

To send a message to one or more clients:

  1. Click the Databases page.

  2. For Clients, select one or more clients.

  3. Click Send Message and type a message.

To send a message to clients connected to a single database:

  1. Click the Databases page.

  2. For Databases, select a database.

    The clients list is updated to show only the clients connected to the selected database.

  3. For Clients, select one or more clients.

    To select all clients connected to the database, click the checkbox in the table heading.

  4. Click Send Message and type a message.

Notes  

  • You cannot send messages to FileMaker script clients or to clients connected via Custom Web Publishing, JDBC, ODBC, or the FileMaker Data API.
