Transfer files

When you transfer a file to your iOS or iPadOS device, you create a copy of the original file. When you update the transferred file on your device, the data entered in FileMaker Go is not automatically synced to the original file. Data must be imported or updated manually. See FileMaker Go Development Guide.

Notes

  • To transfer a file that includes container fields that store data externally to your device, you must first embed the container data. In FileMaker Pro, use the Save a Copy As command and choose self-contained copy (single file). Then transfer the copy.

  • Close a file before transferring it.

Important  A file must not be open in FileMaker Pro and FileMaker Server before copying it to your device.
